Feeling a little Boris Karloff
My housemate Rach was boooked to DJ the cobweb club in Sydney, which is always fun, and the theme was B-Grade horror. Sooooo... here's how to make yourself a Mummy onesie!
![]() I used a base of leggings and a tube dress from Supre, poor Supre I only ever shop there for costumes. ![]() I then bought 10 meters of muslin fabric from Spotlight, both things totally cheap, this whole costume cost well under $20. Grab yourself a big bucket and start cutting the fabric into strips. ![]() ![]() Make a bucket of tea! while you're at it make one for yourself tea is good, nanna core!! Leave everything in the tea mix overnight, the supre stuff too. More te bags = darker colour. ![]() The next day it should be looking good and smelling great! Pop it all in the tumble dryer if your impatient, it makes the house smell good and then you have the fun game of unravelling this mess after! ![]() Iron the strips so they are all flat. Cats, get excited this is one craft project you can really help on! get those claws out and start detroying, the more tears the better. ![]() Put on the tea dyed leggings and dress (so hot right now) wrap, and sew onto yourself, leave it loose enough so you can get out at the end of the night. Then hit the town with your staked Vampire and Teen Wolf pals! And if you're lucky win a best dressed prize at the goth club, which oddly enough included a Flava Flave DVD, but hey who doesnt love the Flave? ![]() I've never seen Crocodile Dundee...
...but I often get asked questions about it when I travel. Here's some snaps I took on holiday in December.

As you may know I do all the retouching for Leather & Lace, a photogrpahy studio and gallery in sydney's inner west. We have recently moved into our new home, a lovely warehouse studio in Faversham lane Marrickville, right near the Marrickville lawn bowls club. January is already fully booked out so its looking like a busy year for me and I'm very much looking forward to it. The space has open beams which means we can cater for aerialists (another of my lifestyle loves) here's a sneak peek of the first shoot, we will have more from this series up on display at our opening night in mid Feb - I'll link to the event here when we have it all locked in.
![]() Why not everyday, Are you so afraid, What will people say!
Ah Halloween, the best holiday by far, and good to see Australians getting really into the costumes this year! Now all we need is for retail to clue on to the idea they can make money from October 31st and perhaps there will be pumpkin doughnuts for me to eat here... mmmmm. Here we are at the start of our adventure I'm the Baseball Fury, Reese is little dead riding hood and Sindy is just plain creepy!
Upside down, Hurry up...
Man that Blackboard from Mr Squiggle sure knew how to party! Here's a little insight into my freetime which I try to spend as much of as possible upside down, at circus, aerial, adagio, acrobatics and break dancing. This is a video from the last day of term at my Lyra (aerial hoop) class, we all do a routine and perform it on the last day, the other girl in the video is the lovely miss Bailey. Enjoy. Drafffted!
So I was lying in bed the other morning procrastinating, as you do, about getting up and putting my feet on the cold floor. I often check my emails on my phone before getting up (I think its a horrible habit using a phone in bed, I just cant help myself) but today my bed phone use guilt was subsided as soon as I saw an email from Dribbble! I had been wanting a Dribbble account ever since I first saw the site and at the suggestion of another user I added a page to this web site called Dribbble Draffft and uploaded a few shots showing what I would do should the Dribbble be mine, and in less than 10 hours since adding that page there it was, the golden ticket, waiting for me in my inbox. I literally squealed like a child. So now let the Dribbbling begin! I’m very excited to have so many other creatives at my fingertips to bounce ideas back and forth with. Its also great because I am wanting to travel and work OS designing so hopefully meeting some of these talented internationals might bring some new horizons.
Check out my brand spanking new Dribbble profile HERE. Spiders Spiders All Around
I've started doing some work with a team of ladies offering package deals on make up, photography and retouching. Were focusing on things a little bit weird and quirky, just like us really and we've called the team Leather & Lace. Heres some shots from our first shoot for a pin up model Lady Medusa who wanted some shots on the darker side steering away from the cheesecake themed ones she had previously done. We covered her in spiders and cobwebs, what a beautiful girl and so much fun to work with! oh and the Leather & Lace logo of course by yours truly.

Australia is a long way for international bands to travel to, but its most appreciated when they do make the long haul flight to visit us. Next to board that leg crunching air space is Sweden's Crashdïet playing a show in Sydney (buy tickets here) and a show in Melbourne (buy tickets here). And guess who was lucky enough to get the poster design, little ole me, yipee! So here it is just some of the artwork made for this tour. See you all there, I'm heating up the crimper for this one.
![]() ![]() Shake Well
Had some spare time this afternoon so we went on an adventure to check out the art adorning the walls of the now abandoned Dunlop Slazenger factory. I've parked right next to this place a million times and always thought it would be cool inside and that was certainly confirmed.
After doing a lap around the building and discussing if we could or couldn't fit in different cracks we found an entrance requiring a little balance and climbing but it was well worth the effort. The spots of light coming in from the roof upstairs gives this place an eerie and magical feeling about it, well as magical as a abandoned factory can be I guess. Littered with so many spray cans of artists come and gone. Highly recommended place to visit, so long as you dont mind climbing over walls just to get into an urban gallery. Polymorph
I do a lot of work for Polymorph Body Piercing Studio in Newtown, the guys at this store are really awesome folk. They always have amazing deals like this latest one here. So get on in there and give these guys a visit, tell 'em I sent you!!

I've just finished retouching some really fun shots with some gore make up. The make up is by Danielle Lewy and the photographer is Ashley Savins, both local Sydney girls and both lots of fun! You can see these shots as before and afters in my retouching section of this site. The model is Reece Mobbs who by the way is also a laugh and a half. I'm looking forward to working with all these guys more often.
![]() Paint Will SpillDate night! Its official I've seen my first art battle and was totally captivated watching Kon and Sprinkles battle it out for 90 minutes! I'm hooked, seriously can not wait for the next one! Sydney funLuna Park in Sydney, so good in summer when its open at night. bones & butterfliesAt the Carlton in Melbourne, some cool stuff on the walls at that bar. say cheese![]() Behind the scenes at Johnny's studio with L.U.S.T. CBGB![]() Just to tie in those last couple of posts here's a logo I did for L.U.S.T. a while back in the CBGB style. New York New York
Australia really doesn't get into Halloween which is such a shame because its the funnest holiday of the year I think. So last Halloween my boyfriend and I headed off to America in search of better costumes and crazy candy. We started in NYC and being the art nerd I insisted we stay at the Ye Olde Carlton Arms Hotel we moved rooms a few times, this one was by Andi Luzi. This place is amazing, if you dont mind slumming it for a bit stay here, no TVs just rooms of art, an adorable cat and you can sit out on the fire escape stairs and watch the world below.
![]() And all those bags are my crazy shop fest from Trash and Vauderville - I'm well dressed for life thanks to Jimmy and Angelina. ![]() I lost my mind when I saw this little guy in the park, what a champ! ![]() The Ramones are one of my favourite bands so we stopped off here to pay respects, I have a subway size poster in my lounge of this very spot. It was pretty sad that the venue is closed now. Here at home a lot of small venues are closing down, remember people if you love the music come out to live shows, this is where it begins and working bands need your support to keep making the music we've grown up loving.
